Formerly dubbed Z-Triton, the polymorphous tricycle was conceived and created by Aigars Lazuis, designer and entrepreneur, who seeked to upgrade cycle-touring and find a sustainable solution for die-hard travelers that want it all. As a tricycle, it features an internal gear hub electric motor with pedal assist. Powered by a lithium-ion battery — and solar panels on the roof — it can deliver 50km of on-road range. Switching from land to water mode is said to be super quick and easy. You only have to ride the BeTriton over a body of water, lift up the wheels of the bike, inflate and attach stabilizers, lower the eboat motor from the cabin, and voilà! As a boat, the BeTriton can take you as far as 20km over water. And hey, if you run out of juice, you can use the attachable oars to reach your destination the old fashioned way. Now, for your stayover, the camper mode works both on land and water. It has enough space for two people to sleep in it, and can fit a couple of rucksacks too. To get the most out of your journey, the BeTriton features a whole bunch of cool amenities. There’s a fold-up kitchen table, built-in heating and cooling, USB charging ports, GPS, and a sound system. You can even fit your favorite plant in a pot mounded on the roof — which is a totally unnecessary, but fun little touch. You can currently preorder it for $105 (€100); deliveries are expected to reach Europe first this year, and the rest of the world in 2023.
