Elon Musk Says Tesla S Early Access Group Will Get Full Self Driving Soon

— Buff Mage (@elonmusk) January 11, 2020 Full Self Driving is an upcoming Tesla feature that currently exists in an unfinished form. According to Musk, the feature will eventually make it possible for a Tesla vehicle to drive itself from an owner’s driveway in the suburbs, onto the highway at high speeds, into the city where there’s traffic, weather, pedestrians, and who-knows-what-else, and into your office parking lot. Musk also claimed that by the end of 2020 Tesla would have fully-autonomous robotaxis operating unrestricted on city streets – which, if true, a couple of AI experts are going to literally eat them....

Facebook Bans Holocaust Denial Posts Reversing Original Stance

Monika Bickert, Facebook’s VP of Content Policy, said in a company blog post that this was motivated in part by the rise in anti-Semitism around the world. She says the company has seen an “alarming level of ignorance” on the topic, and cites a disquieting survey result: “According to a recent survey of adults in the US aged 18-39, almost a quarter said they believed the Holocaust was a myth, that it had been exaggerated or they weren’t sure....

Facebook Should Stop Trying To Disrupt Payments With Libra And Focus On Repair

In recent years, startups have made a habit of taking on regulators in order to grow, with Uber and Lyft as the posterchildren. Playing cat and mouse with much-hated, local regulators like the taxi and limousine commissions of various cities and countries proved easy fodder in many jurisdictions and Uber and Lyft are now multibillion dollar public companies. However, once startups aggressively step into highly regulated industries like insurance or healthcare, regulators come down on them hard....

Fewer Parents Are Naming Their Kids Alexa Or Siri

Nowadays, the real and digital worlds are increasingly blended, making it tough to separate the two. Just consider how AI voice assistants are being given “proper human” names, such as Alexa, Bixby, Cortana, and Siri. I guess tech companies are doing this to make us think they’re actual people and not brainless robots. But this blurring of the line between the digital and real is surely having an impact on the world, right?...

Good News Windows 11 Is Moving To A Yearly Update Model

It turns out Microsoft had already decided on its update approach for Windows going forward. Although the announcement is a few weeks old now, I thought it was worth highlighting: Windows 11 is moving to a yearly update model, much like Android, iOS, and macOS. To be clear, this is for significant feature updates, not smaller security updates and fixes, which will surely come more often. These annual updates, meanwhile, will arrive “in the second half of the calendar year” and offer two years of support for most users (three years for enterprise and education)....

But what Google outlined stood in stark contrast to stricter anti-tracking countermeasures adopted by Apple and Mozilla, both of which have tracking protection enabled by default in Safari and Firefox....

Google Chrome Sucks Here S Why You Should Stop Using It

In 2020, most browsers have adapted. Google Chrome has mainly kept itself on top of the food chain. They basically invented auto-search in the address bar. Besides that, Mozilla Firefox’s layout is way cleaner, Safari sells itself as Apple proprietary software with a massive emphasis on security and privacy, even Opera’s take on what a browser should be is worth trying out. Microsoft’s newest browser Edge, which replaced the hated Internet Explorer, is even far more successful and I even use it on my PC....
